How It All Started

BuhurtTV didn't start with a business plan, investors, or some grand strategy.

It started while I was folding laundry.

One day, I sent a message to a buddy: "Hey, you know what I just realized? There is no central place where we could watch fights and discover more about the sport..."

His response? "Do it!"

And somehow, here we are.

I'm a member of the Chicago Hydras, and somewhere along the way, I fell in love with everything surrounding buhurt. Not just the fights, but the training, the events, the people, the friendships, and the community that makes this sport what it is.

The more I experienced, the more I realized how much of this incredible world was scattered across different websites, social media pages, YouTube channels, and conversations.

So I started building.

Nights. Weekends. Parking lots before and after work. Even while waiting for an oil change.

One feature at a time.

I'm not backed by a big team or investors. I'm just someone who loves this sport and believes it deserves a place where fighters, fans, organizers, and newcomers can discover more of what makes it special.

BuhurtTV is still growing. There's a lot to build, plenty to learn, and probably a few things I'll get wrong along the way.

But the idea behind BuhurtTV remains simple:

Connect the buhurt world through media, discovery and community.

Make it easier for people to discover fighters, follow events, follow fighters' stats and results, and — soon — watch the fights, and connect with the community that makes it all possible.

And to think, it all started with a pile of laundry.

— Founder, BuhurtTV

Buhurt is full-contact armored combat: steel weapons, real armor, real impact. Also called HMB (Historical Medieval Battles). BuhurtTV is a free, public place to find the events, fighters and clubs, starting with events in the USA.

We publish a weekly newsletter and build the site in the open, one piece at a time, with an AI crew helping run it. People approve everything before it's public. See how we use AI.

BuhurtTV is free to use. It's supported by sponsors and ads, ideally from the scene itself: armorers, gear makers, clubs and events. We never sell your data.
