This policy describes how BuhurtTV collects, uses and shares personal data. It applies to the BuhurtTV website and newsletter, for visitors in the United States and elsewhere.

What is live today: the public site (events, fighter profiles, clubs), account registration, fighter profile claims and the newsletter. Self-service account settings for data deletion are coming soon; the section about that below applies once it opens, and we will update this policy before it does if anything changes.

1. Who runs BuhurtTV

  • Legal entity name: BUHURT TV LLC
  • Registered address: PO Box 771, Streamwood, IL 60107, United States
  • Governing jurisdiction: State of Illinois, USA
  • Contact: support@buhurttv.com

We do not knowingly collect more account data than listed above. If that changes, this policy will be updated before the change ships.

3. How we use data

  • Running your account — creating it, letting you sign in, resetting your password.
  • Verifying fighter profile claims — confirming you are the person you say you are before giving you control of a public fighter profile.
  • Sending the newsletter — only to addresses that completed double opt-in with Beehiiv.
  • Responding to you — support requests, claim questions, removal requests.
  • Keeping the service secure — bot/abuse prevention via hCaptcha, fraud and abuse checks on claims.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not share personal data for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not use your data to build advertising profiles.

4. Who we share data with (processors)

We use the following providers to run BuhurtTV. Each handles only the data needed for its job:

ProviderWhat it doesData it receives
Our database & authentication providerDatabase, authentication, account storageAccount email, password hash, fighter claim data
Our hosting providerWebsite hostingStandard web request data (IP, browser) needed to serve pages
Our video hosting providerVideo hosting and playback, once fight videos are publishedStandard playback request data when you play a video. No videos are published yet.
BeehiivNewsletter sending, double opt-in, unsubscribe handlingNewsletter subscriber email, optional signup-source tag
ResendTransactional email for account messages (sign-up confirmation, password reset), sent through our auth provider; never marketingRecipient email for service messages
hCaptchaBot/abuse prevention on signup and loginCAPTCHA token, IP address

We do not share fighter claim data, account data or newsletter data with sponsors, advertisers or any other third party for their own marketing use.

5. Public fighter profiles

Fighter profiles (name, club, competition record and similar public competition data) are shown publicly on BuhurtTV because they describe public competition activity. A profile can be claimed by the fighter it belongs to:

  • You claim a profile from its page.
  • We will ask for identifying information (Section 2) to confirm you are that fighter before giving you control of the profile.
  • More than one person may submit a claim for the same profile; an admin reviews and resolves conflicting claims before approving one.
  • Correction: if information on a public profile is wrong, email support@buhurttv.com. We confirm receipt within 5 business days and correct it within 30 days, after confirming the request comes from the fighter or their parent/guardian.
  • Deletion: see Section 8a for the two deletion options.
  • A fighter's photo, quote or personal story used in a post or feature (outside the base profile data above) is only used with your separate, recorded consent for that specific use.

6. Newsletter and email preferences

  • The newsletter is opt-in only, confirmed by a double opt-in email (Beehiiv). Creating a BuhurtTV account does not subscribe you to the newsletter.
  • Unsubscribe any time using the link in every newsletter email. Beehiiv is the single source of truth for who is subscribed — if you ask us to unsubscribe you some other way (reply, support email, social media), tell us at support@buhurttv.com and we will do it for you.
  • Account/service email (sign-up confirmation, password reset, claim updates) is sent because it is necessary to run your account, not because you opted in to marketing, and continues as long as you have an account.

7. Cookies and similar technology

We keep this short because we use very little:

  • Sign-in session (strictly necessary): when you log in, our auth provider stores your session token in your browser's local storage so you stay signed in. It is removed when you log out.
  • Bot protection (strictly necessary): hCaptcha may set its own cookies when its check appears on the sign-up and login forms.
  • Embedded services: the newsletter signup form (Beehiiv) and the video player (once videos are published) are embedded from those providers and may set their own cookies under their own policies.
  • Analytics (no cookies): We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page visits. It uses no cookies and does not identify you. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

8. Data retention

  • Account data is kept while your account exists. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete your account data within 30 days, except where we must keep something to meet a legal obligation.
  • Fighter claim records are kept for 2 years after the claim decision (approved, rejected or withdrawn), so we can handle disputes about who controls a profile, then deleted.
  • Support emails are kept for 2 years after the conversation ends, then deleted.
  • Unsubscribed or bounced addresses are kept on a suppression list for as long as we send email, so we never email them again by mistake. We keep only the address and the reason.
  • Technical logs at our providers (hosting, auth, email) are kept for the providers' standard log periods.

8a. Deleting your data: two options

You can ask us to delete your data in one of two ways. Today you request it by email to support@buhurttv.com (from the address linked to your account, or telling us which fighter profile the request is about); self-service buttons in account settings are coming. Every request is verified (we confirm it comes from you) and completed within 30 days.

Option A: "Delete my account data, keep my competition records"

What is deletedWhere
Your account and login (email, password hash)Our authentication provider
Profile edits you made (e.g. bio, photo, social links you added)Our database
Your fighter claim submissions (name, social links, club, message)Our database
Your in-app notifications (inbox)Our database
Support emails with youour support mailbox (after the request is closed)

What stays: public competition records (results and stats) tied to your fighter name, as published by event organizers, remain on the public fighter profile. The profile becomes unclaimed. Your newsletter subscription is separate: unsubscribe with the link in any newsletter email, or ask us and we remove you in Beehiiv.

Option B: "Delete everything"

Everything in Option A is deleted, and your fighter profile is anonymized: your name, photo, club link and social links are removed. Competition result rows stay only as "Removed at the athlete's request", with no name or photo, so other fighters' records and event results stay complete.

We may keep the minimum needed to honor your request (for example a note that the profile was removed at your request, so it is not re-created from a future data import) and anything the law requires us to keep.

9. Your rights

If you are in the European Union, UK, or a similar jurisdiction, you have the right to: access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, receive a copy of it in a portable format, and lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

If you are in the United States, depending on your state (for example California under the CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to know what personal data we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, and to opt out of its sale or sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not sell or share personal data in that sense, so there is nothing to opt out of. We will not treat you differently for using any of these rights.

To exercise any of these rights, email support@buhurttv.com from the address linked to your account (or tell us which profile or address the request is about). We may ask for reasonable information to confirm the request is yours. We reply within 30 days; if a request is complex we may extend this once by up to 30 more days and will tell you why.

10. Children's privacy

Browsing BuhurtTV — fighter profiles, events, stats, the newsletter signup — does not require an account and has no age restriction. The rule below applies only to creating an account.

To create a BuhurtTV account, of any type, you must be 18 or older. Accounts are not available to anyone under 18. BuhurtTV is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18; if we learn that we have, we delete it.

Parents or guardians can ask us to correct or delete a minor's profile at support@buhurttv.com (see Section 8a).

11. International data transfers

BuhurtTV is run from the United States, and our providers (Section 4) process data mainly in the United States. If you use BuhurtTV from outside the United States, your data is transferred to and processed in the United States. Where our providers offer them, we rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (and the UK equivalent) for transfers of EU/UK personal data.

12. Security

We rely on our providers' security measures (Section 4) and follow reasonable practices to protect your data, but no online service can guarantee complete security.

13. Changes to this policy

We will update this page when our practices change and update the "last updated" date. For material changes, we will also show a notice on the site (and email account holders once accounts exist) at least 14 days before the change takes effect.
